Aluminium Car Art

I am experimenting with using beer cans as a surface for my textiles designs. I have been on google to see what other people have made using beer cans and found these little cars.

Grayson Perry - Manchester Art Gallery

These vases touch on identity, class and politics. I love the clever way in which messages are portrayed in these vases. The seductive vases on closer inspection contain narratives which refer to darker issues. These chronicles of the modern world are portrayed using wit, sentiment, nostalgia, fear or anger.

Victoria and Albert Museum London

Taking a look at the lace archives in London.... I love the shapes that are created within the lace but also the shapes of the panels. When I look at the shapes of the panels I am reminded of the armour and think how they could be worn on the body.

Royal Armouries Museum Leeds

I visited the Armouries Museum in Leeds on the 1st Feb 2011. The decorative jousting armour was particularly interesting as the heavy metals were feminised by the use of delicate detail. The grandeur of the armour became increasingly popular around the time of Henry VIII. I also like the cutwork used in the armour and the construction techniques used in order to give the armour motion.
